Hello and welcome to my blog! I’m so glad you’ve stopped by!

Let me introduce myself – my name is Beth and I am the mother of 5 incredible grown-up children and grandmother to one adorably perfect grandson. I have been married for 38 years to that handsome, tall, smart and funny guy who took me to our high school Prom!

I am a redeemed and thankful Jesus-follower, a sweet-toothed cupcake baker, a glass-half-full optimist, a friendly introvert and a sappy romantic. I am a right-brained creative, a good listener, a book lover, a homebody, a Briggs-Meyer INFP and an Enneagram 9.

After graduating all 5 of my children from our North Carolina homeschool, Cornerstone Academy, I became a retired homeschool mom in 2017! I loved homeschooling my children. Like parenting, homeschooling is the hardest, most challenging, most frustrating, and also the best and most rewarding thing I could think of doing. I co-founded and led a local support group, helped start a homeschool band, homeschool sports league, and homeschool prom. I taught classes in art, literature, worldview and geography in co-ops, in my living room and at my kitchen table, and I mentored dozens of younger moms. That was a very full, challenging, and satisfying season of life!

The Empty Nest was not an easy transition for me. Not only were my children gone from my home, but it was also the end of my career! After pouring so much of myself into my family and the local homeschool community for almost half my life, what was I going to do now? I still am active in our local homeschool community as a mentor and advisor. But gradually I began to realize that there were other things that I had shelved over the years until “someday when I have more time” , and now “someday” had arrived!

I just recently converted one of our bedrooms into an art room. I enjoy having my art supplies out again, and I’m starting to teach some bible journaling classes. I’m a pretty good cupcake baker, and have been baking for friends and friends of friends for a while now. I love listening to my music and reading good books. I am dreaming of a house remodel and maybe establishing a little homestead on our one acre. I have time to spend in God’s Word, meet up with friends at the local coffee shop, volunteer as a preschool teacher with a refugee ministry, and of course, spend time with my new grandbaby.

This blog is a way for me to share my thoughts, opinions, experiences, and adventures, especially with other women in this season of life. I hope you’ll follow along and join me to create a community of encouragement, inspiration, and positivity here.
